 NEWPORT, Pa. — The community in Newport is grieving the heartbreaking demise of Christina Pearl, aged 40, from Newport, who passed away on Monday night after a fatal hit-and-run incident on Narrows Road close to Royer Road in Miller Township, Perry County.

As reported by the Pennsylvania State Police, Christina was traversing the road when a vehicle hit her. Officers arrived at 9:10 p.m. and discovered her lifeless on the side of the road. The automobile departed the location prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.

Law enforcement subsequently found and took possession of the vehicle involved in the accident a short distance from where the incident occurred for examination. The driver has been identified and questioned, but their name and comments have not been disclosed as the investigation continues in conjunction with the Perry County District Attorney’s Office.
