 Eamon Hipps Burlington, NC Death and Obituary – It is with deep sorrow that the Burlington and Alamance County communities grieve the loss of Eamon Hipps, a cherished 17-year-old student from Western Alamance High School, who sadly passed away after a tragic car accident. Eamon’s untimely departure has created an irreplaceable gap in the hearts of his family, friends, teammates, coaches, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Eamon was recognized throughout his community as a bright presence. His generosity, captivating smile, and steadfast loyalty made him a person that others were drawn to naturally. In the classroom, on the soccer field, or at the pool, Eamon exhibited humility, determination, and sincere concern for others. Those who were closest to him recall a young man whose mere presence lifted spirits and whose laughter could instantly improve even the hardest days.

A talented and devoted athlete, Eamon shone in both soccer and swimming, earning respect for his strong work ethic and ability to lead. In 2024, he became a member of YBAC, showcasing his enthusiasm for soccer from the outset. His proficiency in multiple sports and unwavering dedication rapidly distinguished him, leading to a series of impressive accomplishments. Most memorably, Eamon received the MVP award at the 4A State Championship, earned a cap on the National Team at the Capital Classic, and just two weeks prior to his passing, achieved qualification for the YMCA Long Course National Championship—an exceptional milestone in his young athletic journey.

In addition to his personal achievements, Eamon was profoundly invested in giving back to others. He was naturally inclined to teach and mentor, dedicating his time to coach goalie clinics and assist the summer swim league. He took great satisfaction in helping younger athletes develop, consistently providing encouragement, direction, and patience. His influence extended well beyond mere competition, leaving a lasting impact on those he guided.

Eamon’s loss has had a significant impact on Western Alamance High School, Alamance County YMCA, and the larger community. He was not only an exceptional athlete but also a loving son, brother, friend, and teammate whose kindness and integrity were just as important as his abilities.

The community continues to support Eamon’s parents, Kristin and Tim Hipps, and their family as they face this unimaginable grief.
