James Beckham Baltimore County, MD Death and Obituary – James Beckham, a 31-year-old from Essex, Maryland, sadly passed away in a multi-vehicle accident on the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) on the morning of Saturday, December 20, 2025. The incident took place shortly after 8:00 a.m. on the Inner Loop at Perring Parkway (Exit 30) in Parkville, Maryland, leaving the local community in disbelief.
Chain Reaction Crash
Initial reports from the Maryland State Police suggest that Beckham’s car, a Nissan Sentra, collided with the rear end of a Toyota C-HR for reasons that are still being examined. This first collision triggered a subsequent chain reaction involving two more vehicles: a Nissan Altima and a Toyota RAV4. The accident resulted in considerable traffic delays and necessitated a prompt response from emergency personnel.
Emergency Response and Casualties
Emergency responders from the Golden Ring Barrack, along with the Baltimore County Fire Department and Baltimore County Police, quickly arrived at the site. James Beckham, the only person in his vehicle, was taken to a local hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
The other drivers involved sustained varying levels of injuries. Dante Summers, 26, the driver of the Nissan Altima, received medical care at a nearby hospital. The drivers of the Toyota C-HR and Toyota RAV4, along with a passenger, were fortunate to escape unhurt. Authorities commended first responders for their rapid response in handling the accident scene and delivering immediate assistance.
Traffic Disruptions and Investigation
The incident resulted in the closure of all lanes of the I-695 Inner Loop for approximately three and a half hours, causing significant traffic delays in Parkville and nearby areas. Lanes were reopened around 11:30 a.m. after a thorough cleanup and management of the scene.
The Maryland State Police Crash Team is currently conducting an ongoing investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the incident.
