According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, the deadly accident took place around 11:11 p.m. in the 5100 block of South West Street, close to 47th Street South. Deputies, along with the Wichita Fire Department and county emergency medical services, responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash involving a black Chevrolet SS heading north. Investigators indicated that the car left the roadway while approaching a curve, was unable to make the turn, and rolled over several times.

The individual driving the vehicle, 47-year-old Joseph Perry Davidson from Wichita, was thrown from the car during the incident and was declared deceased at the scene. Joshua Blick, who was a passenger, was also ejected from the vehicle. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he later passed away from his injuries. A third passenger, a 44-year-old man from Wichita whose identity remains undisclosed, suffered serious injuries and was admitted to a hospital for treatment.

Officials reported that initial findings indicate that factors such as speed and alcohol played a role in the accident. No other vehicles were involved in the incident. The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the Major Crash Team is still looking into the situation, and the definitive cause of the crash is still being determined.
