Lisa Lomavaya Obituary Death News: Remembering Lisa Lomavaya, A Committed Supporter, Influential Figure, and Cherished Member of the Community

With deep sorrow, the Hopi-Tewa Women’s Coalition to End Abuse (HTWCEA) grieves the passing of its Board President, Lisa Lomavaya, a founding member whose vision, empathy, and guidance were pivotal in forming the organization since its inception in 2008. Lisa was part of a group of resolute Hopi-Tewa women who united to establish a secure and supportive platform for victims and survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. Since the coalition's foundation, she was a constant presence on the board, dedicating her energy, passion, and heart to safeguarding and uplifting others.

Lisa’s guidance was rooted in integrity, modesty, and an unwavering dedication to her community. Her zeal for advocacy and empowering the community was reflected in all her endeavors, and her presence fostered encouragement and connection among those nearby. She was well recognized for her friendly smile, contagious laughter, and her ability to instill hope through compassionate words and significant actions.

As a proud member of the Spider Clan from the Village of Tewa, Lisa was a loving mother, grandmother, and devoted wife. She enjoyed a fulfilling life with her family, raising four children and cherishing one beloved grandchild.

In addition to her role with HTWCEA, Lisa left a significant mark through her position as Public Relations Officer at the Hopi Health Care Center, where she spearheaded community outreach, educational programs for youth, and employee engagement initiatives. Furthermore, she actively participated in the Miss Hopi Committee and various community projects throughout Hopi and Tewa territories.

Lisa’s existence was characterized by service, love, and intent. She will always be cherished as an unflagging advocate, a respected leader, and a true friend to many. We offer our heartfelt sympathies to the Lomavaya family, her friends, colleagues, and the broader Hopi-Tewa community. Her legacy of empathy and resilience will persist in guiding and inspiring future generations.
