Robert Michael “Mike” Crews, 67, from Greenwood, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his residence on December 20, 2025. He was born on July 14, 1958, to the late Russell and Barbara Jean Crews. The loss of Mike creates a significant emptiness in the hearts of all who cared for him, yet his enduring legacy of compassion, commitment, and affection for family will last forever.
Mike was raised in Indianapolis, where he attended St. Bernadette Catholic grade school and completed his studies at Howe High School in 1976. From an early age, Mike exhibited a strong sense of responsibility, starting with a paper delivery route and eventually building a lifelong career within the grocery and produce sector. He devoted 50 years to this line of work, beginning at A&P Grocery, then moving to Caito Foods, Indianapolis Fruit, and ultimately retiring from Spartan Nash in 2023. His employment was more than just a vocation; it represented his deep-rooted dedication and hard work.
Throughout his life, Mike's interests were evident. He prioritized his family above everything else, and his devotion to them remained constant. He was an engaged father to his four children and a doting grandfather to his two grandchildren, always cheering them on in their various pursuits. Mike’s passion for sports, nature, the outdoors, and card games brought great joy to his life, and his participation in local Pickleball clubs, bowling leagues, and other community events highlighted his enthusiasm for living fully and savoring each experience.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Sandy Crews; his four children: Christopher (Jessica), Megan (Josh Mariner), Matthew, and Eric; two grandchildren, Gavin and Ava; two step-grandchildren, Kai and Kaed; and three siblings: Jim (Janet) Crews, Cindy (Al) Fesselmeyer, and Tony (Tina) Crews. Mike took immense pride in his family, leaving behind a legacy filled with affection, laughter, and cherished experiences.

In lieu of floral arrangements, the family asks that memorial donations be directed to the Harvest Food Pantry Endowment Fund at SS Francis and Clare. A link for contributions is available within the "Give Now" section of their website.
Mike will be profoundly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to exist in the memories he created and the love he shared with his family and friends. May he find eternal peace.
