Rebecca Pepe, Lagrangeville, NY Death and Obituary – Rebecca Ann Pepe, a dedicated spouse, affectionate mother, beloved daughter, and valued friend, sadly passed away unexpectedly at her residence in LaGrangeville, New York, on December 21, 2025, at the age of 53. Her untimely departure has left relatives, friends, and the local community grieving, as they remember a woman characterized by her kindness, love, and steadfast commitment to those around her.
Born on May 16, 1972, in Monmouth, New Jersey, Rebecca was the adored daughter of Keith and Jeanette (Capron) Walter. She demonstrated a caring and thoughtful demeanor from an early age, a trait that remained central to her identity throughout her life.
Rebecca completed her education at Ketcham High School in 1990, where she fostered enduring friendships and unforgettable moments that she cherished throughout the years. She continued her academic journey at Hofstra University, where she received her English degree in 1994. During her time at Hofstra, she actively participated in Delta Phi Epsilon, establishing sisterly connections that she valued for a lifetime.
Family was the source of Rebecca’s greatest happiness. She wholeheartedly devoted herself to her daughters, Morgan and Jocelyn, finding immense joy in every milestone and daily experience they shared. Her love and guidance significantly influenced their lives, and she consistently provided them with support, motivation, and affection. In addition to her immediate family, Rebecca maintained strong ties with her extended relatives and friends, always offering her time, compassion, and consideration.
Recognized for her kindhearted nature and gracious demeanor, Rebecca possessed an extraordinary ability to make others feel appreciated. Her generosity extended to her community and church, where she actively participated as a committed member of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church in LaGrangeville.
On June 15, 2002, Rebecca united in marriage with Anthony Pepe at St. John’s Church, establishing a relationship founded on love, mutual respect, and shared beliefs. Together, they cultivated a household brimming with joy, dedication, and treasured memories.
Rebecca is survived by her husband Anthony; daughters Morgan and Jocelyn; parents Keith and Jeanette Walter; brother Matthew Walter; in-laws Phyllis and Tony Pepe; brothers-in-law William Pepe and Adam Pepe with his spouse Sarah; and nieces and nephews Skyla Walter, Treyvor Walter, and Carolynn Pepe; alongside cousins Lori Furnari, Jessica and Wayne Quint, including their daughters Samantha (“Sam”) and Sloan.
Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., located at 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, situated at 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville, followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
Rebecca had a lifelong passion for fresh flowers and a fondness for animals, especially dogs. In honor of her memory, contributions can be made to Care of DC, a local dog shelter, P.O. Box 4, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
The legacy of Rebecca Ann Pepe endures through the love she shared, the family she raised, and the many lives she impacted. She will be profoundly missed and eternally remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
