St. James Parish Incident – A devastating collision involving two vehicles in St. James Parish resulted in the deaths of four individuals and injuries to two others in the early morning hours of Christmas Day, December 25, 2025. The accident took place around 3:45 a.m. along Louisiana Highway 641, south of Interstate 10, close to the town of Gramercy, as reported by the Louisiana State Police (LSP).
Initial reports suggest that the crash involved a 2008 Honda Accord and a 2019 GMC Sierra pickup truck. Authorities indicated that the Honda Accord was heading north on LA 641 when the driver lost control. The vehicle reportedly spun around, crossed into the opposite lane, and collided with the approaching GMC Sierra. The force of the crash was catastrophic, leading to several deaths at the location.
The Honda Accord was being driven by Tyreione Parker, a 35-year-old from Baton Rouge. Parker was declared dead at the site of the accident. Three individuals riding in the Honda also perished: Kedrick Robertson, 29, of Baton Rouge; Gevin Harvey, 35, of Baton Rouge; and Christina Gillam, 22, from Shreveport. Authorities verified that all four adults in the Honda incurred fatal injuries due to the collision.
A 13-year-old passenger within the Honda managed to survive the crash and was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries. The driver of the GMC Sierra also survived and experienced moderate injuries. Emergency medical responders arrived promptly, offering assistance before transporting those injured to hospitals for additional care.
Louisiana State Police highlighted that the use of seatbelts, or the lack thereof, was a major factor in the crash's severity. Investigators noted that none of the adult passengers in the Honda Accord were using seatbelts during the incident. Furthermore, the teenager was not adequately restrained, which likely exacerbated the injury severity. LSP officials continue to underline the critical necessity of seatbelt usage for everyone inside the vehicle, regardless of their seating arrangement or trip duration.
The inquiry into the accident is still ongoing. Although the precise reason for the Honda Accord's loss of control is yet to be established, officials confirmed that toxicology tests were performed on both drivers as part of standard investigative protocol. The results will be examined to ascertain whether alcohol, drugs, or other impairing substances were factors in the event.
This heartbreaking incident acts as a stark reminder of the hazards present on Louisiana's roadways, especially during holiday travel seasons. The Louisiana State Police encourage drivers to operate vehicles responsibly, wear their seatbelts, ensure their passengers are securely restrained, and refrain from operating under the influence or distractions to help avert similar tragedies in the future.
