It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the death of Abira Kirubananthan, who was born on February 24, 1998, and sadly departed on December 31, 2025, in Markham, Ontario. The loss of Abira has profoundly affected her family, friends, and the surrounding community, leaving them devastated. She is remembered fondly for her compassion, generosity, and the uplifting influence she had on all who encountered her.
Arrangements have been made for funeral services and visitations to celebrate Abira's life and allow those close to her to express their condolences. The initial visitation will take place on Sunday, January 4, 2026, between 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm at St. John’s Dixie, located at 737 Dundas Street East, Mississauga, ON L4Y 2B5. A second visitation is planned for Monday, January 5, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the same venue.
Following the visitations, the funeral service will occur on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 10:00 am at St. John’s Dixie, conducted by Nadarajah Kurukkal. Later that day, at 12:00 pm, cremation will take place at the St. John’s Dixie Crematorium, allowing a final opportunity to honor and reflect on Abira’s life and contributions.
Relatives, friends, and community members are welcome to come together during these services to commemorate Abira’s life, exchange memories, and provide mutual support during this difficult time. Her legacy will persist in the hearts of all who cherished her, and her essence will continue to motivate kindness, empathy, and love within the lives she impacted.
Abira Kirubananthan’s life, although tragically brief, made a lasting impression on her family, friends, and community. May she find eternal peace, always remembered and valued.
