Ashley Christensen, a chef and founder based in Raleigh, North Carolina, announces that Beasley’s will shut its doors after 14 unforgettable years.

It marks the conclusion of a significant period for Wilmington's downtown. After over 14 years of commitment to the community, Beasley’s will shut its doors on Sunday, January 25th.

Owner Ashley Christensen shared emotional thoughts about the history of the cherished establishment. "Our efforts have always been devoted to making Beasley’s the finest it can be, and I'm proud to say we’ve accomplished that because of our wonderful team here," she remarked. However, similar to many businesses in the downtown area, Beasley’s has been affected by shifting conditions. Although recent years have seen positive growth, the existing business model is no longer viable in the current dynamic market.

With thirty years of experience as an independent business owner, Ashley indicated that she is redirecting her focus to other ventures. "I believe I'm not the right individual to spearhead a new idea—or even a fresh take on Beasley’s—in this vital location at Wilmington and Martin Streets—but I am confident that someone within our community can," she pointed out.

Beasley’s has been a fundamental part of the neighborhood, providing much more than just meals and beverages. It has served as a place for gatherings, where memories were created, friendships deepened, and the downtown essence flourished.

The team welcomes everyone to visit one final time before January 25th, to honor the remarkable staff and the legacy of Beasley’s. As Ashley expresses, "Thank you for transforming this part of downtown into such a meaningful place!"

Though the chapter of Beasley’s comes to a close, the impact it has made for the community and future projects at Wilmington and Martin Streets will remain.
