Emily Houska Chicago Illinois Passing Tribute, Katie Shober Sibling, Katie Beach Literature and Sparkling In Cherished Remembrance

 Emily Patricia Houska, at the age of 23, passed away on August 23, 2017. Although her time spent with us was far too brief, the affection she shared and the brightness she brought into our lives will continue to resonate eternally among those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Her parents, Dan and Michelle, cherished her deeply, deriving endless pride and motivation from her kindness and resilience. Her sisters, Katie and Sara, showered her with immeasurable love, forming a connection filled with joy, understanding, and unwavering support. Emily was a beloved granddaughter to Mary Houska and the deceased Donald Houska, along with the late Anthony and Ada “Nona” Teuma, all of whom cherished her dearly.

As a beloved cousin to Ryan, Meredith, Gabrielle, Miller, Ross, Shane, Grace, Olivia, Eric, Abbie, and Anna, she also counted more best friends than can be enumerated. Emily possessed a unique and remarkable ability—she made everyone feel secure, acknowledged, and profoundly valued. As a natural nurturer, she bore the burdens of others as if they were her own and offered love generously and without reservation.

Emily’s passion for serving others extended well beyond her loved ones. She was dedicated to aiding individuals, particularly children and families facing challenges. Her generosity was not showy or loud—it was consistent, heartfelt, and based on sincere compassion. She lived a life filled with intention, empathy, and an open disposition.

While the void left by her absence is beyond what words can capture, Emily’s essence remains present with us—in moments of stillness, in shared recollections, and in acts of kindness motivated by her influence. She continues to inspire us, urging us to love profoundly, care selflessly, and always support one another.
