Although some could not have grown up knowing Michael, the relationships he created were quick and significant. Many say they felt as though they had acquired a lifelong buddy when they encountered him. He had a remarkable capacity to connect on an honest level—open, cordial, and full of heart. Michael's integrity, not time, defined the depth of their friendship.

Michael was most importantly a loving and devoted dad. The center of his universe and his proudest achievement were his kids. Every action he took showed his will to be present, helpful, and uplifting in their life. Deeply and wholeheartedly he adored; his children will still be encircled by that love in the years to come.

Michael was also an avid disc golfer and a fervent artist. Whether he showed himself artistically or spent hours on the course, he brought energy, pleasure, and connection to every endeavor. Friends will always treasure the rounds played together, the laughter exchanged, and the amicable rivalry that produced memories that would last forever. His passion of disc golf was about the camaraderie and contact that accompanied it rather than only the game.

Though they did not grow up together, one close friend wished they had met him sooner to have known him longer. Their friendship fast deepened and gained significance. Together with Heather Seeko and Samantha, they stand ready to assist Michael's children and family, promising always to be present. "I adore you, Mikey," they replied. "Save me some room on your card for some disc golf in paradise one day."

Love, inventiveness, loyalty, and companionship characterized Michael Witten's life. Though he stayed here far too briefly, his influence will still be felt. Those lucky enough to call him friend will carry his laughter, generosity, and spirit with them forever.

He will always be remembered and deeply missed.
