Alexis Jackson Obituary Update: Fatal Collision Claims Lives of Two Residents of Kaplan on Louisiana Highway 14

 KAPLAN, La — The town of Kaplan is in sorrow over the passing of 65-year-old Julien Lawrence, Jr. and 41-year-old Alexis Jackson, who lost their lives in a tragic two-car accident on Friday afternoon, November 7, 2025, in Vermilion Parish.




According to the Louisiana State Police, officers arrived shortly after 2:00 p.m. at the location of a deadly crash on Louisiana Highway 14, just east of Pirates Lane. Investigators report that the incident involved a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria operated by Lawrence and a 2023 Cadillac Escalade heading in the opposite direction.

Details remain unclear as to why one of the vehicles crossed the centerline while approaching a small bridge, leading to a head-on impact. Authorities have not yet established which vehicle drifted into the oncoming lane.

Rescue teams arrived to discover Julien Lawrence, Jr. and Alexis Jackson, who was in the rear seat of the Ford, both sustained fatal injuries. Despite prompt medical efforts, both individuals were declared dead at the scene.

The driver and a passenger of the Cadillac, along with another occupant from the Ford, were taken to nearby hospitals for their injuries. Their current health status has yet to be disclosed.

Routine toxicology samples were taken from both drivers and submitted for testing as part of the continuing investigation.

The Louisiana State Police is reminding all drivers to remain vigilant, refrain from distractions, and practice safe driving, particularly on two-lane roads where a brief moment of inattention could result in disaster.

As the inquiry proceeds, the Kaplan community is uniting to mourn the loss of Julien Lawrence, Jr. and Alexis Jackson—two cherished individuals remembered for their compassion, resilience, and lasting impact on their family and friends.
