BIRMINGHAM, Ala — The community of Birmingham is grieving the devastating passing of 30-year-old Anson Quandarius Henderson, who was killed in a shooting on Saturday morning, November 8, 2025, in the Collegeville area.

As reported by the Birmingham Police Department, officers from the North Precinct received a call regarding a domestic disturbance at approximately 10:14 a.m. on the 3200 block of 32nd Street North. While responding to the incident, the officers spotted a vehicle rapidly leaving the area and decided to pull it over, suspecting that it was trying to escape from the scene.

While the officers were apprehending the driver, they received an update indicating that someone had been shot. Upon arrival at the residence, the responding units discovered Anson Henderson lying motionless on the porch. Birmingham Fire and Rescue soon arrived and declared him dead at the location.

Investigators report that initial evidence suggests a domestic conflict took place earlier between Henderson and the mother of his child. This dispute allegedly concluded, and she exited the home. Shortly thereafter, another vehicle appeared, and the assailant opened fire, hitting Henderson multiple times before allegedly trying to escape.

At this point, law enforcement has not disclosed the identity of the suspect, and no arrests have yet been made. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has informed Henderson’s family, and authorities state that the investigation is still active and in progress.

The Birmingham Police Department is calling on anyone with information regarding the shooting to reach out to BPD Homicide Detectives at 205-254-1764 or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
