 IOWA FALLS, Iowa — Officials have confirmed the identities of the three individuals who tragically lost their lives in a shooting incident that occurred early Sunday morning, which investigators have characterized as related to domestic issues and concluded in an apparent murder-suicide.

According to the Iowa Falls Police Department, around 4:00 a.m., Hardin County Dispatch received an emergency call from someone who found several individuals unresponsive inside a house located on the 1100 block of Willow Lane.

Upon arrival, officers discovered three people deceased, apparently due to gunshot injuries. A fourth individual was found with injuries that were not life-threatening and was taken to a nearby hospital for medical care.

The victims have been identified as Jessica Marie Bennett, 42, from Iowa Falls; Alan Jandro Karalius, 51, from Garner; and Shawn Michael Bean, 45, also from Iowa Falls. Investigators concluded that Bean had shot the other victims before turning the gun on himself.

Authorities have stated that the shooting was the result of a domestic scenario confined to the home, indicating there is no imminent danger to the wider community. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, alongside the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol, is working with the Iowa Falls Police Department as the inquiry proceeds.
