Johnathon Reed Obituary News: 37-year-old Johnathon Reed Declared Deceased at Location, Two

 KINGSPORT, Tenn. — The Kingsport Police Department has reported the detention of two suspects following a fatal shooting that took place in the early morning of Monday, November 10, 2025, on Sky South Road.



At around 12:00 a.m., patrol officers from Kingsport Police responded to a 9-1-1 call that indicated gunfire and a man found on the ground. Upon their arrival, officers found Johnathon Reed, 37, who was pronounced dead onsite. Investigators and crime scene experts were promptly summoned to collect evidence and initiate a homicide probe.

Throughout the investigation, detectives pinpointed Krysten Atkins, 22, and Tyler Holly, 33, as individuals of interest related to the shooting incident.

Later that same day, at approximately 5:00 p.m., authorities discovered both Atkins and Holly at a location on Garden Drive. After conducting interviews and examining evidence, Atkins was charged with a single count of First-Degree Murder, and Holly faced charges as an Accessory After the Fact to First-Degree Murder.

Atkins was taken to the Sullivan County Jail located in Blountville, while Holly continues to be held at the Kingsport City Jail.

Officials have confirmed that both suspects were taken into custody without any issues and expressed gratitude to the community for their support in tracking them down.

“The quick resolution of this case was achievable through thorough investigative efforts and the collaboration of our community,” commented a representative from the Kingsport Police Department. “We are thankful to everyone who stepped forward with information.”

The deceased individual, Johnathon Reed, is recognized as a 37-year-old white male who lived on Sky South Road in Kingsport. The investigation into Reed’s death is still ongoing as detectives persist in collecting evidence and speaking with witnesses.
