As stated by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, the accident took place at approximately 8:35 a.m., when a semi-truck from 2009, operated by 69-year-old Edward Swinger from Redfield, disregarded the stop at the intersection and collided with Keasey’s 2009 Toyota Scion as she drove west on Highway 44. Despite being buckled in and receiving swift emergency assistance, Keasey suffered severe injuries and was later declared deceased at the State Medical Examiner’s Office.

Emergency personnel from the Adel Fire Department, Dallas County EMS, and the Iowa State Patrol diligently worked at the accident site, but the heartbreaking outcome has left the community deeply affected. The road remained closed for several hours while investigators looked into the incident and cleared the area.
