Tina Louise Santo Obituary Death News: Community Grieves the Passing of Cherished Advocate Tina Louise

CORAM, NY — The Coram community, along with the larger New York area, is in mourning after the passing of Verbena Tina Louise Santo, an ardent supporter of both animals and humans, whose life ended far too soon. Tina died last night, enveloped in love, following a tragic incident last week in a Trader Joe’s parking lot. She sustained severe injuries after being hit by a car and trapped between two vehicles, and was freed by emergency responders utilizing the jaws of life. Tina remained on life support in critical condition until her death.

Tina’s warmth and empathy reached everyone she encountered. She was recognized not only for her profound affection for animals but also for her relentless commitment to aiding people. Her friends and family recall her as someone who could brighten any space, provide solace during difficult times, and advocate tirelessly for those who lacked a voice, whether they were human or animal.

As a lifelong resident of New York, Tina was raised in Albertson and was a student at Herricks High School, later furthering her education at SUNY Buffalo. In her career, she served as a travel consultant at Blue Ribbon Travel in Stony Brook and had worked previously at Personal Travel. She approached her professional life with the same passion and attentiveness she demonstrated in all areas, positively influencing everyone she collaborated with.

Animals held a special place in Tina's heart and were integral to her existence. She was dedicated to her nine cats, each of whom was a significant part of her everyday routine. In her honor, her family and friends are encouraging the community to think about adopting one of her cats, providing them with loving permanent homes and upholding Tina’s legacy of compassion.

Although her time on Earth was heartbreakingly short, Tina’s impact extends well beyond those who had the privilege of knowing her closely. She fostered kindness, cultivated empathy, and reminded those around her of the essential nature of caring for both humans and animals. Her absence is profoundly felt throughout Coram, Stony Brook, and elsewhere, creating a gap that will not be easily filled.

While the community grieves, Tina’s life is commemorated for the joy, love, and advocacy she infused into the world. She leaves a legacy filled with bravery, generosity, and a testament to how one individual's heart and devotion can effect significant change. Tina Louise Santo will be honored, remembered, and treasured by all whose lives she impacted.
